Leach Library eliminates overdue book fines

The Leach Library Board of Trustees and staff are excited to announce that overdue fines will be eliminated for books starting on Saturday, October 1, 2022. In an effort to promote literacy and equal access for all patrons, both print and audiobook materials will no longer accrue overdue fines.

"In these challenging financial times, we are grateful to the Trustees for removing the fines on books,” said Leach Library Director Erin Matlin. “We know that our patrons will be very happy with this change. We want to make sure that the library is a place where people feel comfortable and welcomed."

Other audiovisual materials, Library of Things items, and museum passes will continue to accrue overdue fines per the Leach Library Borrowing Policy. Patrons are still responsible for any lost or damaged materials. For further information, please contact the library at (603) 432-1132.
