Overview
The Pettengill Road TIF Advisory Board was created to oversee and guide the Town’s Tax Increment Financing District in accordance with RSA 162-K:14. The Board advises both the Town Council and the District Administrator on planning, construction, and implementation of the development program. It also reviews the ongoing maintenance and operation of the district after improvements are complete. The Board is made up of three members, including one Town Councilor and at least one property owner or occupant within or near the district. Members serve staggered terms and are appointed by the Town Council. The Board operates under rules of procedure, holding public meetings and ensuring transparency under New Hampshire’s Right-to-Know law (RSA 91-A). The District Administrator must consult with the Board before taking major actions, and the Board has the ability to appeal decisions to the Town Council. Together, these powers ensure accountability, public input, and careful stewardship of the TIF District’s development and future growth.
