Wild Apples Londonderry's Literary and Art Journal

We are pleased to announce a new community publication called Wild Apples: Londonderry’s Literary and Art Journal. Wild Apples seeks to publish artistic voices from Londonderry and surrounding communities, and will feature poetry, fiction, nonfiction, photography, visual art, and interdisciplinary work submitted by area residents.

Our goal is to foster the regional arts community through an accessible interchange of creativity across genres and generations.

We are now accepting from creative-minded individuals living in Londonderry and surrounding areas. Submissions will close on September 31, 2024. Please use the submission form below.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Residents of Londonderry and the surrounding region may submit up to 5 original pieces of art from the following genres:

  • Poetry (3 pages max per poem)
  • Fiction (short stories, novel excerpts, flash fiction, etc. across all genres, up to 3000 words per piece)
  • Nonfiction (essays, articles, memoir, journalism, travel writing, humor, etc., up to 3000 words per piece)
  • Photography 
  • Illustration or painting 
  • Comics
  • Collage
  • Any digital form of visual art
  • Mixed media
  • Digital photographs of 3D or large format art like sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts, glass, murals, etc.

All work we publish must adhere to the Londonderry Community Standards for Public Art.

If your work is accepted for publication, we will need you to sign our Publication Agreement.

ABOUT THE EDITORS

Dasha Bulatova is a poet, translator, and interdisciplinary artist. She received her MFA in poetry and translation from San Francisco State University and served on the editorial teams at the Berkeley Fiction Review, 14 Hills, and Best American Nonrequired Reading. She joined LAC as a voting member in 2022.

Submissions will be selected for publication by a panel of the editors, Arts Council members, and/or volunteers from the community.
